edinburg teachers credit union located at 900 w university dr, edinburg tx. on 8/22/2021, i went to this location to cash a check drawn on an etcu account. i waited in line for approximately 1 hour and was finally waited on by a teller, kateryna chizhova. she informed me that she was unable to cash the check because i was not the account holder and did not have an account with the credit union. i explained to her that i have cashed checks drawn on this account at other etcu branches without a problem. she said that the policy had changed and that she would have to verify the account holder's signature on the check before cashing it. she then took the check and went to the back of the branch to verify the signature. while she was gone, another teller, maricela rodriguez, came over to me and asked if she could help me. i explained the situation to her and she said that she would cash the check for me. she took the check and verified my identification. she then processed the check and gave me the cash. i asked her if the policy had changed and she said that it had not. i am not sure why kateryna chizhova was not able to cash the check for me, but i am grateful to maricela rodriguez for helping me. she was very friendly and helpful and i will definitely be going back to this branch.
