area wide insurance is a company with absolutely no integrity. i applied for a renters insurance policy through them on 04/12/22 in the amount of $125.00. i was told it would take 7 to 10 business days for my policy to be active. after 10 business days, i called to inquire about my policy. i was told my policy was declined but no reason was given. i asked the agent if she could find out why it was declined and she stated she would have to speak to a manager and have them call me back. two days later, i still hadn't received a return phone call, so i called back. this time, i was told that my policy was declined because "i don't have enough renter's insurance history." however, i have been a renter for over 10 years and have had renter's insurance the entire time. i have never had a claim or any issues with my previous insurance companies. i am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service i have received from area wide insurance. i would not recommend this company to anyone.
