vacationguard, inc. in po box 1853, oldsmar fl provides traveling insurance that is supposedly there for you when you need it most and unfortunately when i needed them most they were nowhere to be found. my niece broke her foot while vacationing in mexico and needed emergency medical care. because she was a minor, an adult needed to be present to authorize the care and neither of her parents could leave work so i stepped up to help. after trying to reach vacationguard, inc. for three hours on their worldwide assistance phone number, i finally got through and they informed me that they could not authorize any care without an adult family member present. i explained that i was there with my niece and had permission from her parents to make decisions on their behalf, but they still refused to do anything for her. after another hour of waiting i finally got a manager on the phone and again explained the situation and she finally did agree to authorize care. by this time, my niece had been waiting, in pain, for over six hours because vacationguard, inc. could not get their act together. i will never use them again.
