"i don't even know where to begin with this experience. i'll try to be as detailed as possible. i obtained a commercial policy with vertical on 12/21/2021. within three weeks i canceled my policy after two months of being with the company. i was sold a policy that covered me and my employees for our work. i was not covered for anything. i had one minor claim happen and i was immediately dropped. i was told i was not covered for anything unless i had hired and w-2'd all of my employees and i did not do that because we are all subcontractors. i was given an option for an endorsement to cover my employees that would have been an additional $3200 a year. i declined. however, with every conversation i had with the company it seemed that i was covered. i asked several times about being covered for the work that we did on residential properties and was assured that i was. i got into an accident on 3/7/22 where i was rear ended by an uninsured motorist. i called vertical to report the claim and was immediately told i wasn't covered and they were dropping me. i explained to them my situation and how confused i was because i had asked several times about this coverage. i spoke with someone named [redacted] who was incredibly rude to me from the beginning of the conversation and condescendingly explained that they would not be covering me. i was shocked how someone could be so rude, especially after i had been paying vertical a large sum of money for coverage that i didn't have. i ended up having to pay $800 out of pocket to have my vehicle repaired and have since found another insurance company who told me that i was covered for everything that vertical told me i wasn't. please reconsider using this company. i work very hard for my money and hate to see a company get away with taking advantage of people. i hope this helps someone else from having to go through the same terrible experience."
