james a rothberg & associates inc acted in bad faith as our insurance agent in regards to an automobile claim arising from an accident which was not our fault. we were referred to them by a friend and found mr. rothberg to be very friendly and helpful at the time we purchased our insurance policies. however, when we filed a claim in january 2018, mr. rothberg did not respond to our calls and voicemails for weeks, did not provide us with a claim number or other information about how to proceed with the claim, and did not timely provide the other driver's insurance company with the necessary information to adjust the claim. as a result of rothberg's unprofessional and neglectful handling of our claim, the other driver's insurance company denied our claim. mr. rothberg compounded his prior failures by failing to assist us in appealing the denial of our claim. we were forced to hire an attorney and proceed with the claim on our own. the attorney was able to secure payment from the other driver's insurance company (minus attorney fees). we reported rothberg to the department of insurance and the better business bureau.
